Faculty Student Attendance
The very moment you enroll in a study program in the Faculty, you have committed yourself to work towards achieving academic success. A key requirement of your success is that you do your best to get involved fully with all scheduled activities in the Faculty.
Attending lectures, seminars, workshops, and labs are essential and critical for your success.
You are also reminded that punctuality is also crucial. Turning up late to the classroom will cause serious disruption for others.
There are aspects of behavior that you should be aware of before you enter the classroom. No food or drink should be consumed in lectures or labs. All mobile phones should be turned off unless you are instructed otherwise. Using laptops in lecture rooms for non-academic purposes is strictly prohibited.
Recording Attendance
The university has an obligation to keep records of your attendance in all types of contact teaching hours that are allocated by the Faculty. You should demonstrate your attendance through this recording process.
If you cannot attend
If for any reason you are unable to participate in the academic activities, you are expected to inform your instructor, or else the Faculty Assistant.
Be advised:
You must be aware that students who are absent from classes or associated academic activities without valid and verifiable reasons on three consecutive occasions and/or whose attendance falls below 67% (two thirds according to the University Bylaws Clause 73) at any time will be de-registered from the course undertaken for the semester. In this case, students will have the right of appeal by filing a petition form at the SAO. This petition form will be examined by the SAO and faculty and you will get an answer within 5 working days.
If you attend regularly
Students who attend regularly and seek to be a step ahead of their work will get the most of their studies. Accordingly, you optimize your success in the courses leading to a degree and you will feel comfortable in the relationships with your classmates who will contribute directly and indirectly to supporting your achievements
