Jalal Jomaa is Vice-President at Al Maaref University.
Dr. Jomaa received his Bachelor of Engineering from the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (Grenoble INP), France, in 1992. Then, he received the MS, in optoelectronics, and Ph.D., in microelectronics, degrees from the same University, in 1992 and 1995, respectively. In 2002, he obtained the Habilitation diploma from the Grenoble-INP authorizing him to supervise Ph.D. Dissertations. He joined the Department of Electronics and Radio electricity at Grenoble INP as an assistant professor at 1996.He was also the founding Director of Microwave Engineering Master degree in 2013 at Lebanese University and registered as a professional engineer at Lebanon.
As soon as he joined the Laboratoire de Physique des Composants à Semiconducteurs (LPCS), Grenoble-INP, in 1992, Dr. Jomaa got involved in researching extensively the areas of; characterization, modeling, and simulation of Silicon-On-Insulator MOS transistors, Low-temperature physics, Low and High-frequency noise, RF characterization, Microwave SC devices and Electromagnetic modeling.
In 2005, Dr. Jomaa was promoted to full professor in 2005 at Lebanese University and served as Physics & Electronics department chair from 2015-16 before assuming his current role at Al Maaref University.
In addition to his extensive teaching, course and research development in different domains of electromagnetic engineering, Dr. Jomaa is the author or co-author of over 200 scientific publications (16 invited papers and review articles), and he has supervised more than 20 Ph.D. and was involved in several national and international research projects. Dr. Jomaa was the co-founder of Hassan Kamel Sabah Laboratory at Lebanese University.
Important to note that Dr. Jomaa has regional and international involvement in higher education. He held visiting professorships at United Arab Emirates University, Mc Master University of Canada, Osaka University of Japan, Seoul University of South Korea, Athens University of Greece, Ain Shams University of Egypt.
