You can expect us to:
- Make sure our libraries are open for you to use throughout the year, with reasonable opening times.
- Provide a help service at the library during core hours.
- Welcome you and provide guidance and direction to make you familiar with MU's library services and facilities.
- Provide training in information skills through a program that can count towards your major.
- Provide up-to-date information and resources in a variety of electronic, printed and audiovisual media for you to borrow or use for reference.
- Hold a set of core textbooks recommended by your faculty, and give you information on borrowing options and return dates.
- Provide an up-to-date, web-based catalog or resources that are easy to use and can be accessed both on and off campus.
- Develop new ways of providing access to learning resources and make sure we continually improve our services to meet your needs.
- Make sure all our staff are welcoming, polite, and professionally trained to meet your needs.
We expect you to:
- Remember that our library includes areas for private and quiet study.
- Respect the rights and needs of others, in line with current Library regulations.
- Return any items you have borrowed when they are due or when the Library staff ask you to.
- Look after books, journals and reports, and not to attempt taking any library items without a permit; you have also the responsibility not to damage or hide them
- Get help if you need it, and help us by giving us your comments and views on our services and suggestions for improvement
- Respect and take care of resources and equipment provided by our University.
