ARB 000 Arabic Remedial I
ARB 000 is the first part of the IAP combined sequence. Students develop fluency and accuracy.
Course work focuses on comprehensive skills as well as academic preparation skills, including the fundamentals of essay writing and the development of critical reading, listening and note-taking skills. The goal for students completing this level of the IAP is to transition to ARB 050 and beyond.
Students on the remedial courses are of the level of beginner to low –intermediate. The courses are shaped by a communicative approach that is heavily using a combination of language games, role play, authentic material and also task-oriented practices. Students will be subject to different types of assessments
There is a set of assessment methods used for the course such as regular assignments, quizzes, partial exams, projects and the final exam.
ARB 000 is a ten-credit course.
