ENG 000 English Remedial I
ENG 000 is the first part of the Remedial / Intensive English Program (IEP) combined sequence. Students develop fluency and accuracy. Course work focuses on comprehensive skills as well as academic preparation skills, including the fundamentals of essay writing and the development of critical reading, listening and note-taking skills. The level of delivery is at a beginner to low-intermediate levels. The goal for students completing this level of the IEP is to proceed to ENG 050 and beyond.

The ENG 000 emphasizes on the learner engagement with the material of the course. Its communicative approach uses language games, role play, authentic materials, and also task-oriented practices.
The course is graded according to a regular assignment, quizzes, midterms and finals.
ENG 000 is a ten-credit course. Classes meet 200 contact hours per 15-week semester; 5 days per week; 13 hrs. 25 min per week; 2 hrs. 45 min per day; morning and evening classes.
