ENG 050 English Remedial II
The ENG 050 is the second part of the IEP combined sequence. Students continue to develop fluency and accuracy.
Course work focuses on comprehensive skills as well as academic preparation skills, including the fundamentals of essay writing and the development of critical reading, listening and note-taking skills.
The goal for students completing this level of the IEP is to progress to ENG 100 and beyond.
The level of English language delivery is at Low-intermediate to Intermediate levels. It is based and developed on learner’s engagement.
The course uses communicative approach through language games, role-play, authentic materials and also task-oriented practices. There is a set of assessment methods used for the course such as regular assignments, quizzes, partial exams, projects and a final exam.
The ENG 050 is a ten-credit course. These credits are equivalent to 200 hours of classes, distributed across a 15-week semester; each day 2 hrs & 45 minutes.
Students must be open to accepting a morning or evening schedule depending on availability.
