A Cultural Symposium at MU on the Birth Anniv. of Imam Mahdi
The faculty of Religions and Human Sciences at Al Maaref University held, on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, a cultural symposium entitled “The Role of Moral Education in the Practical Foundation of the Mahdist Movement”, marking the birth anniversary of Imam Mahdi (A.S.).
The symposium was presented by the professor and researcher at the Seminary and the University Sayyed Hussein Ibrahim, and attended by the President of the University, Dr. Ali Alaeddine, with the presence of a crowd of educational and administrative staff and students.
Sayyed Ibrahim touched on religious education and the integration of moral education with the pillars and purposes of religion and its position in the system, pointing to the role of moral education among young people and societies in preparing for the emergence of the awaited Imam (A.S.), and how to positively await his reappearance and raise the backbiting jurisprudence.
The guest drew attention to the most prominent obstacles to reappearance and its affinities, the characteristics of moral education and the characteristics of educators and educational institutions in the preparatory project, the challenges of citizenship and coexistence in a diverse society, as well as to some vocabulary of moral education in the narrations of Imam Mahdi, which intersects with some other educational vocabulary; in addition to the relationship between moral education and the purpose of creation on one hand, and between it and the pillars of religion on the other.
Finally, a discussion took place between the guest and the attendees on the topic of the symposium.
