A “Recommended for You” Seminar for FoE & FoS Students

The Computer Science Club (Code-it) of the Faculty of Sciences at Al Maaref University organized a seminar entitled “Recommended for You” on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, presented by the professor at the Faculty, Dr. Mubarak Mohammad, with the participation of the university's academic staff and students of the Faculties of Sciences and Engineering (FoE & FoS).

The seminar dealt with the effective role of the artificial intelligence systems, coupled with the opportunities it offers in the advancement of many aspects related to everyday life. Dr. Mohammad stressed the importance of “Personalized Recommender Systems” which are used to monitor the choices and needs of individuals and users, and provide personalized recommendations of services and products to gain the trust of users. The lecturer delved into various types of machine learning algorithms and the most common approaches for building and improving personalized recommender systems.
