Al Maaref University Honors 15 Outstanding High School Students
On Thursday, December 2, 2021, Al Maaref University honored its scholarship recipients that received a 100 percent scholarship from the university for ranking at top levels in the national baccalaureate exam.
The outstanding students, who enrolled in the MU's academic year of 21/22, got rewarded in a ceremony held on campus in the presence of its President, Professor Ali Alaeddine, members of the University Council, and heads of the relevant departments.
During the ceremony, the President delivered a speech in which he congratulated the high achieving students for their efforts and merit, noting that they had overcome obstacles during harsh times and despite the grave challenges Lebanon went through.
The merited students were distributed among faculties as follows: 6 joined the Faculty of Engineering, 4 joined the Faculty of Religions and Humanities (3 of them joined the Department of Translation and Languages), 3 joined the Faculty of Mass Communication and Fine Arts, and 2 joined the Faculty of Science.
Dr. Alaeddine pointed out that dozens of outstanding students have benefited from this program in the various University faculties and departments, indicating that their scholarships ranged from 50 to 80 percent. "The University adopts study programs and educational decisions that help develop creativity, self-learning, and scientific research, and maintains continuous evaluation and development of its programs," Dr. Alaeddine continued.
"There is no doubt that you are a source of pride for your parents and secondary schools, you've made a good choice," he addressed the students by saying, adding that with the blessing of "talent and merit that you have, and the pledge that you have just undertaken, you can go forth on the path of excellence and integrity and you will definitely make a difference."
The ceremony concluded after presenting certificates of scholarships to the students followed by a group photo and reception.
