Celebrating CMA Scholarship Recipients

The Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at Al Maaref University organized a special celebration to honor five accounting students who were awarded the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) scholarship by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). The event occurred on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Building C on the university campus in Beirut (Building C). Among the attendees were Ms. Maya Abu Jawdeh, the IMA representative in Lebanon, and Mr. Wael Jawhar, the President and Founder of BCA, along with a gathering of students and professors.

Dr. Bassam Hamdar, FBA's Dean, commenced by emphasizing the university's commitment to preparing students for the job market, equipping them with essential skills for success, and continually updating programs to stay current. He stressed the importance of leveraging professionals' expertise in all fields.

Ms. Abu Jawdeh then highlighted the significance of the certification in enhancing students' expertise. She stated, “It provides financial expertise, broad experience in making sound financial decisions, and a strong understanding of accounting fundamentals. This enables students to perform accounting tasks and responsibilities perfectly.”

Mr. Jawhar praised the faculty’s efforts towards students, ensuring their preparation for the future, and presented the honored students with five training sessions to take the Management Accountants (IMA) exam as a training institution.

In conclusion, the Director of IMA in Lebanon awarded scholarships to the following students: Fatima Youness, Mariam Akil, Maya Dayekh, Zahraa El-Hajj Ali, and Mariam Taj El-Din. Following this, the faculty, representing the university, presented a medal of gratitude and appreciation to both Ms. Abu Jawdeh and Mr. Jawhar.

It's worth noting that the scholarship covers membership fees in IMA for three years, along with admission and registration fees and a support package for the exam. Additionally, IMA, established in 1919, is a global association for accountants and financial professionals in business, renowned for advancing the profession of management accounting.
