FBA Assistant Dean participated in a Global Conf. about HRD
Dr. Ali Al-Dirani, Assistant Dean at the Faculty of Business Administration at Al Maaref University participated in a Global Virtual Conference organized by the International Federation of Training and Development Organizations – IFTDO and hosted by Origin Group - Leader Event Organizer Worldwide.
The conference was themed Reshaping the Future of HRD In a Fast-Changing World. The conference sessions and discussion panels highlighted the complexity and pace of changes facing organizations worldwide with a special focus on the COVID 19 pandemic. The conference examined the future of HRD and the readiness and ability of HR managers and senior managers to adapt and quickly adjust to the unexpected in the new norm and work from home reality.
Dr. El Dirani participated in one of the panel discussions during the conference events and his main intervention was on the role of leadership and priorities ahead. He emphasized the value of leadership development and highlighted the set of competencies that leaders must acquire and/or develop especially: Emotional Intelligence, Resilience, Flexibility, Tech Savvy, Integrity, Consistency, Empathy, and Creativity.
The conference speakers agreed that the HRD profession has greater opportunity to deliver value to organizations and society than ever in the past offering their visions of the future and solutions to the opportunities ahead based on research work and practical case studies.
