FBA Launches its First Entrepreneurship Competition
Al Maaref University Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), in collaboration with the Islamic Education Foundation-Al Mahdi (AJ) Schools and Institutes, launched the first entrepreneurship competition titled "I am an Entrepreneur" on Friday, March 8, 2024, at the university campus in Beirut. The competition aims to familiarize students with the principles and importance of entrepreneurship and innovation, providing them with training on idea generation, feasibility studies, and project planning.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Jalal Jomaa, the Vice President of the university; Dr. Bassam Hamdar, the Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Ali El Dirani, the Assistant Dean; department heads at the faculty; and Dr. Kamal Lezzaik, the Dean of Student Affairs. Representing the Islamic Foundation, Mr. Fadel Al Mousawi, the Deputy General Manager, was present along with representatives from the participating schools and institutes and several clubs officials.
Dr. Jomaa welcomed the attendees, providing an overview of the university's faculty, goals, new centers, and future projects. Then, Mr. Al Mousawi delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of the competition at this time, noting its benefits in refining practical skills for students, supporting innovative ideas, and fostering creativity to contribute to meeting the community's needs and promoting its growth through nurturing talents.
In turn, Dr. Hamdar, the Dean of the Faculty, emphasized the significance of entrepreneurship from economic, social, cultural, and creative perspectives. He highlighted studies confirming that entrepreneurial culture begins in the early academic and formative years, emphasizing the importance of fostering this mindset.
It's worth mentioning that the competition targets high school students, and winners are awarded valuable cash prizes, tangible rewards, and scholarships from Al Maaref University.
