First Graduation Poster Exhibition at Al Maaref University
The Faculty of Engineering at Al Maaref University organized its first graduation projects exhibition, in which students and graduates participated from various departments: Computer Engineering and Technology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The selected graduation projects presented innovative solutions to the challenges facing the local community in various engineering fields.
The exhibition was held on Wednesday, July 5th, 2023. The vice president and the Dean of the Engineering Faculty, Professor Jalal Jomaa along with the university professors welcomed representatives from invited companies that had previously played an active role in hosting students during their training period, such as Ghaddar Company and Somp Company. Additionally, community figures, including the Mayor of Al-Ghubairi Municipality, Mr. Maan Al-Khalil, a delegation representing the Scientific Center for Manufacturing and Production, as well as specialized engineers and heads of engineering departments from several private universities, were present.
Dr. Bassem Al-Zoghbi, the exhibition organizer and head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, delivered the opening speech, welcoming and expressing gratitude to the esteemed attendees for accepting the invitation. Then, Professor Jalal Jomaa praised the importance of communication and collaboration between the university and various local community entities, including municipalities and institutions, to direct graduation projects that serve the community and contribute to its development and prosperity.
The Dean Jomaa highlighted that graduation projects are among the most significant academic courses in the Engineering faculty at Al Maaref University, as they provide students with an opportunity to apply the knowledge they have acquired during their years of study in practical settings and transform it into tangible and innovative solutions. This exhibition showcases students' capabilities in design and innovation, knowledge exchange with the industrial community, and communication with specialized companies and employers.
Through such activities, Al Maaref University aims to promote a culture of innovation, develop students' skills in engineering fields, and empower them to contribute to the advancement of society and technological progress. This exhibition also reflects the university's commitment to enhancing a culture of research and development, as well as fostering cooperation between academics and the industry.
