Introduction to Payroll & Taxation: Workshop for ACC Students
The Al Maaref University’s Accounting Department at the Faculty of Business Administration organized its fourth specialized training workshop under the title “Introduction to Payroll & Taxation” on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, geared to equip third-year students with the best practices in accounting.
In cooperation with the Scientific Association for Accounting and Business Administration (SAABA), the workshop took place at the university’s campus in Beirut. The workshop was presented by SAABA’s representative Expert Mahmoud Mkashar who made a comprehensive review on calculating systems of the different types of payroll and income taxes. Students gained proficiency in filling in all types of forms that are adopted by the finance ministry and financial units, with special attention to those taxation regulations affecting the Lebanese employers and employees, and how they are used by individuals, companies, and private or public Lebanese or foreign institutions. Students also had the opportunity to conduct practical work on the taxation rules, standards, and laws that were culminated and studied in previous academic years.
At the end of the workshop, the Head of the Accounting Department Dr. Hassan Rkein thanked the Association and its representative for their valuable efforts, and hailed the students’ significant interaction and participation throughout the workshop. Certificates of participation were awarded to the students and a certificate of appreciation was presented to the trainer.
