MCFA hosts Court Journalist Radwan Mortada and JSC
In cooperation with the Journalists Support Committee (JSC), the Faculty of Mass Communication and Fine Arts at Al Maaref University hosted Al-Akhbar's Court Journalist Radwan Mortada and the members of JSC to commemorate the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists (IDEI), on November 2, 2022.
In the meeting, which welcomed by the MCFA's Dean Dr Ali El-Takach and attended by students, the Executive Director of JSC, Lina Al-Dana introduced the role and tasks of JSC, screening a video prepared by JSC on some of the violations that journalists are subjected to in Lebanon and the MENA region.
Following this introduction, the Court Journalist Radwan Mortada referred to his experience and explained the challenges that journalists may face during their work, especially in exercising freedom of expression and the legal restrictions they may be subjected to, pointing to the concerned authorities that are able to sue and prosecute journalists.
Notably, this meeting comes in the context of delivering a series of Excellence and Creativity sessions that the Faculty of Mass Communication and Fine Arts deliver to the students in Fall 2022-2023.
