MCFA Lecture: Intellectual Property in Lebanese Courts

Students from the Faculty of Mass Communication and Fine Arts (MCFA) at Al Maaref University (MU) hosted Mr. Julian Khoury as a part of the "Media Ethics and Laws" course. Mr. Khoury is a specialist in intellectual property at Sader Publishers, a leading legal publisher since 1863. The lecture, titled "Intellectual Property in Lebanese Courts," was held on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at the university campus (Block A) in Beirut.

During the lecture, Mr. Khoury discussed various cases handled by the legal office of "Sader", focusing specifically on the field of literary property. The session provided an opportunity for students to engage in a meaningful discussion with the guest. They posed questions spanning a variety of topics, from the issue of copying university books to practical considerations for their professional journey, emphasizing the importance of steering clear of unintentional infringements on literary property.

At the end of the session, Mr. Khoury presented the book "A Reference in Intellectual Property Jurisprudence" by Mr. Rani Joseph Sader, as a gift to the students and instructor of the course. The book was deposited in the university library for the benefit of all.
