MU clubs honored the martyrs from Al-Mayadeen TV, media presenter Farah Omar, and photographer Rabih Al-Maamari in an event titled "Farah and Rabih: Media Soaring towards Immortality." The event featured the presence of the martyr Farah’s father, Mr. Hisham Omar, the martyr Rabih’s wife, Mrs. Manal Jaafar, the martyrs’ colleague, Mr. Khaled Khalil, and the Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication and Fine Arts (MCFA) at the university, Dr. Ali El-Takach. The ceremony took place on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, on the university campus (Block A) in Beirut, with the attendance of club members and the families of the martyrs.
After welcoming the attendees and the families of the martyrs, Mrs. Manal spoke about the qualities of the martyr Rabih Al-Maamari, emphasizing his humanitarian and journalistic role as well as his role as a father and husband. She stressed that she “would raise their children on the same principles to carry on his cause."
Mr. Hisham, in turn, highlighted the passion of the martyr Farah and her love for media and its meaningful messages. He pointed out that his daughter chose this field of study and excelled in it from the time she entered university until her graduation.
MCFA Dean affirmed that MU always seeks to develop the skills and theoretical and practical knowledge of students to place them at the forefront, capable of facing challenges and assuming responsibilities in various fields.
