MU Students Clubs Elections for the Year 20-21
Al Maaref University Clubs held elections on the 22nd of December 2020 for the 4th consecutive year. Voting was unprecedentedly conducted virtually via UMS software (MU students’ portal) and Google Meet application.
The committees and executive members of seven student clubs were elected after a weeklong campaign during which candidates registered their names for clubs’ membership.
In light of Regulation 6 of the Student Clubs Policy, the candidates were elected under the supervision of the Directorate of Student Affairs.
The number of clubs’ representatives was settled according to MU Students Clubs’ regulations.
The results were revealed live on Facebook, announcing the new committees’ members as follows:
Students elected committee members of two clubs:
- Sport club (Males): Ali Al Hadi Harb, Ali Ayoub, Hussein Rmeity, Kassem Ali, and Ali kanso.
- Arts club: Noha Jalloul, Hadi Hijzai, Mohamad Nasredeen, Ali Moghnieh, and Mohamad Mahdi Yahfoufi.
Whereas, the committee members of all other clubs were elected by acclamation because the number of candidates was equivalent to the number of contested seats.
And the results were as follows:
- Committee members of Sports Club (Females): Saja Yazbek, Rawan Mezher, Rana Baz, and Sara Farran.
- Committee members of Pioneers Club for girls (Al Raeda): Zeinab Haidar, Yasmin Kassem, Batoul Nasreddeen, Fatima Al Moussawi, and Khadija Ammar.
- Committee members of the Reading club: Noor Harb, Rayan Khatib, and Fatima Baydoun.
- Committee members of Culture and Dialogue Club ِ (Alminbar): Zahraa Nisr, Nour El Ouyoun Kazbar, Abbas Sherri, Zeinab Al Zein, and Zahraa Bandar.
- Committee members of Social Service Club (Basma): Hadi Raad, Rola Helbawi, Saja Al-Hajj Hassan, and Jana Kanj.
Finally, after members were selected, the election of the clubs’ executive members was conducted via the Google Meet application. According to the polls,

- Social Service Club (Basma): Saja Al-Hajj Hassan (Faculty of Mass Communication and Fine Arts)
- Sports Club (Males): Ali Al Hadi Harb (Faculty of Engineering)
- Sports Club (Females): Saja Yazbek (Faculty of Mass Communication and Fine Arts)
- Pioneers Club for girls (Al Raeda): Fatima Al Moussawi (Faculty of Religions and Humanities)
- Reading Club: Fatima Baydoun (Faculty of Religions and Humanities)
- Arts Club: Mohamad Mahdi Yahfoufi ((Faculty of Mass Communication and Fine Arts)
