MU Third Translation Prize: Awards to the Winners

On Tuesday, July 28, 2020, the Chairperson of the Department of Translation and Languages at Al Maaref University, Mrs. Zeinab Anis Jaber, presented the awards to the winners in the "MU Third Translation Prize" competition that the Department organized last February, in cooperation with the Union of Arab Translators and Arab Organization for Translation (AOT), and sponsored by Librairie du Liban Publishers (LDLP). The awards ceremony was held at the University Campus; all necessary precautions were taken.

Awards distributed among the winners varied between full scholarships, laptops, and dictionaries according to the terms of the competition along with participation certificates for the first three winners in each one of the four combinations.

The first three winners within each combination are as follows:

• From Arabic into French:
1. First place: Ainjie Ahmad Joumaa - Al Kawthar High school
2. Second place: Ali Salah Joumaa – Al Kawthar High school
3. Third place: Rayan Mohammad Mortada – Al-Jawad High school-Bekaa

• From French into Arabic:
1. First place: Malak Kathem Makki - Al Batoul High school
2. Second place: Dana Akil Dagher - Al Kawthar High school
3. Third place: Mohammad Hussein Adnan Ouza - Al Mostafa High school

• From Arabic into English:
1. First place: Nour Ayyoub Yaakoub - Al Batoul High school
2. Second place: Ranim Atallah Jaber – Al Ghobairy Third High school for Girls
3. Third place: Marriam Hussein Saleh - Al Rawda High school

• From English into Arabic:
1. First place: Ali Mohammad Ammar - Al Mahdi Shahed High school
2. Second place: Fatima Hassan Abbas - Al Batoul High school
3. Third place: Nour Ali Daher - Al Mahdi Hadath High school
