  Despite that Al Maaref University is a newly established higher education institution in Lebanon. MU wins the second place in the Chess Championship

In a Chess Championship organized by the Universities Sports Federation for the year 2023, Al Maaref University won second place with the participation of 12 universities from Lebanon, while the Lebanese University won first and Saint Joseph University won third.

The Championship was held on Thursday, April 6, 2023, in the AUST University building, from 02:00 pm Until 06:30 pm, where Al Maaref University also won a silver medal and a bronze medal in terms of players.

The participating students are:

Ali Ahmad Jurdi: silver medal - second place in terms of players.
Ali Hassan Al-Aitawi: Bronze medal - third place in terms of players.
Hadi Said Jabak.
Muhammad Ghassan Kourani.

It is noteworthy that the Sports Club at Al Maaref University held a chess tournament in early January, and monitored outstanding students in the game, working with them over the past months to train, participate and achieve outstanding results in the championship.
