MU's Victory in NRC 3: National Robotics Competition
MU graduate Mohammed Ali Al Asbat, from the Computer Engineering and Technology Department at the Faculty of Engineering, clinched first place in the National Robotics Competition (NRC 3). The event, held on March 16th and 17th, 2024, at the Lebanese University campus, showcased Al Asbat's project, titled 'Deep Learning Model to Detect Cancer Tumors from CT Scans,' which impressed the judges and secured him the top position.
Called by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, with support from the Ministries of Industry and Labor and the International Center for Training and Development (ICTD), the competition featured a diverse range of innovative projects. Results were announced on the second day, and Labor Minister Mustafa Bayram, presided over the award ceremony, honoring the top-performing teams.
The event attracted a wide audience, including technology specialists, academics, and students from various universities, highlighting the significance of advancements in robotics and artificial intelligence.
