New Student Orientation by Student Affairs

Al Maaref University (MU) welcomed its new students, who joined various faculties during the spring semester, through an orientation meeting organized by the Student Affairs Deanship on Thursday, February 13, 2025.
The event took place at the university’s Beirut campus (Building A) and was attended by Vice President and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Jalal Jomaa, and Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Kamal Lezzaik.
The orientation aimed to introduce students to the university’s academic systems, research centers, student services, campus facilities, and clubs, thereby promoting their engagement in university life.
Dr. Kamal Lezzaik opened the session by welcoming the attendees and affirming the university’s commitment to providing the best programs for its students while continually developing and updating its academic curricula and laboratories.
Following that, Vice President Prof. Jalal Jomaa provided an overview of the academic calendar. He explained key academic policies, including course registration and withdrawal, course freezing, types of grades, grading systems, GPA calculation, and the role of academic advisors. He also addressed university regulations and concluded the session by answering students’ questions and inquiries.
Additionally, Ms. Mireille El-Hajj, Head of the Orientation Office, discussed the university’s official email system and demonstrated how students can activate their university email accounts and access the online learning platforms used by various faculties.
The orientation concluded with an introduction to the University Educational Support Center (MUCES), highlighting its role in enhancing students’ skills and providing academic support services. Students were also informed about the university’s student clubs and counseling services.
