"Plasma Needed” Campaign Launched by PR Students of MU
Beirut 21 December 2020 - A group of students of the Public Relations and Advertising Department at the Faculty of Mass Communication and Fine Arts at Al Maaref University launched a campaign titled, "Plasma Needed" to encourage the donation of blood plasma to patients with Covid 19, in cooperation with Man-Ahyaha Association and Al-Rasoul Hospital.
After a welcoming speech by a member of the students who launched the campaign, the President of Man-Ahyaha Association, Vice President of NoD, Dr. Imad Shams delivered a speech pointing that the blood plasma is not a Covid-19 treatment, but it can relieve symptoms of infection, considering that blood donation is a tissue donation.
Dr. Shamas argued that the donation of blood plasma from a person who recovered from the Covid-19 and able medically to donate their blood plasma can help to relieve the average symptoms of Covid-19 patients.
In a similar vein, the fifth-year medical student, Hussein Yazbek, delivered an e-speech from Iran. He argued that those patients recovered from Covid-19 carry a very valuable gift in their blood which is the plasma, pointing that this natural gift can help a number of Covid-19 patients, and thus blood plasma donation is admitted in Iran.
The students who launched the "Plasma Needed" campaign are, Maryam Dakdouk, Lama Zein, Hadi Fneish, Zainab Lakkis, Alaa Hammoud, Saja Yazbek, Ali Hadi Makki, Jinan Al-Anan, Muhammad Hadi Chabchoul, Zainab Al Hariri, Sarah Farran.
