The First Annual Celebration of ‘Kitab wa Turjuman’ Club
The first annual celebration of 'Kitab wa Turjuman' club was held in commemoration of the birth anniversary of Imam Mahdi (pbuh) and the one-year milestone of the specialized club in the Department of Translation and Languages at Al Maaref University. The event took place on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Building A on the university campus in Beirut.
The opening ceremony commenced with the recitation of some Quranic verses and Ziyarat Al Yassin, followed by a speech from the head of the department, Dr. Zainab Anis Jaber. She introduced the club's work, expressing gratitude to the current administrative body and extending best wishes to the upcoming administration.
During the event, the club's inaugural president, student Jana Rustom, delivered a speech detailing her personal experience with the club and the achievements realized in the past year. Additionally, the Content and Publishing Officer, student Noor Al-Zahraa Awdeh, presented a video showcasing the series of activities and workshops organized by the club throughout its first year.
Following that, a vote was cast for the candidates for club membership in the upcoming phase. This was followed by a cultural competition and a draw for prizes for the winners. Subsequently, the election results were announced, with students Noor Al-Zahraa Awdeh, Israa Termos, and Fatima Al-Zahraa Hazimeh winning and assuming administrative responsibilities for the club in the coming period.
Alongside the festivities, a token of appreciation in the form of the "Waiting Flower" shield was awarded to acknowledge the trainers who contributed to the specialized workshops. The event, drawing considerable attention from both students and faculty, wrapped up with the ceremonial cutting of a celebratory cake and a collective photo session that brought everyone together.
