Workshop for Accounting Students: 'Budgeting and Forecasting'
The Faculty of Business Administration at Al Maaref University, in collaboration with “BCA International”, organized a specialized workshop for accounting students titled “Budgeting and Forecasting”. The workshop took place on Monday and Wednesday, December 18 and 20, 2023, at the university campus (Block C) in Beirut. It was led by Mr. Wael Jawhar, a CPA, CMA, and the Chief Executive Officer of BCA International, in the presence of accounting department students.
To commence, Mr. Jawhar, the accounting expert, defined the budget as a planning tool and elucidated its relationship with management functions, emphasizing key financial data. He then presented models for qualitative and quantitative forecasting methods, discussed the steps for their development, and explained techniques for adapting and analyzing data.
The workshop provided third-year students with valuable insights and practical knowledge essential for mastering the complexities of financial planning. It underscored the development of skills that could set them apart in the fields of accounting and finance in the future. This accounting workshop, part of the ACC410 course, is one in a series of specialized workshops organized by the accounting department to enhance students' skills, refine their experiences, and prepare them efficiently for the job market.
