This management specialty received heightened interest in the past years within both academia and industry as influenced by the shift towards work specialization and knowledge economy and concerns for the appropriate hiring, developing, motivating and retaining of the human resources.

This major of study introduces students to the essentials in marketing principles and applications such as market research, market segmentation, marketing strategy, branding, consumer behavior, and marketing management. Graduates of this major are ready to pursue higher academic programs as well as the related professional certificates.

This major of study introduces students to the essential theories and applications used in economic analysis. Students will be equipped with all necessary analytical tools and techniques enabled by information technology to construct and communicate sustainable economic solutions for policy makers. Graduates shall be able to pursue their post graduate education and to seek jobs in the professional job market in all types of businesses, public office, and non-governmental organizations.

This major of study provides students with an essential understanding for the necessary theory, applications, tools and techniques to evaluate any financial dilemma, and give rigorous advice and guidance for management practices. Graduates of this major shall be ready to pursue higher academic education as well as professional preparation with local, regional or international certification bodies.

The department of Journalism and Digital Media shall prepare its students to achieve basic knowledge in the field in order to comply with the competencies necessary to grow in the profession and acquire the Journalism and Digital Media proficiency. Graduates of this major shall be ready to pursue further postgraduate education and to serve as active members of the Lebanese Association of Journalists as well as of the International Journalism bodies.

This major of study prepares students both technically and conceptually to analyze and undertake decisions appropriate to the introduction, maintenance and upgrading of information technology and related management systems. Graduates are empowered to pursue any professional certificates in software, databases, networks, Internet and related technologies. Graduates can also pursue their academic higher education locally, regionally or internationally.

The department of Accounting shall prepare its students to achieve basic knowledge in the field in order to comply with the accounting competencies necessary to grow in the profession and acquire the accounting proficiency. Graduates of this major shall be ready to pursue further post graduate education and to serve as active members of the Lebanese Association of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors as well as of the International Accountancy bodies.

The aim of the Department of Advertising and Public Relations is to enable students to acquire theoretical and practical basis necessary to comply with the competencies required to grow in the profession as well as to become proficient in the field of study. Graduates of this major shall be ready to pursue further postgraduate education and to serve as active members in a range of national and international professional bodies and institutions related to Advertising and Public Relations.

Students of this program shall be inducted, trained and educated on the foundations of contemporary human resources covering the necessary theory, applications, tools and techniques. Graduates shall be ready to work in the field using their critical mind to analyze and contain any situation related to the human asset of the organization. Moreover, graduates of this program are ready to pursue both higher academic programs of study and professional certification.

Students of Al Maaref University had a chance to get involved in the events of the World Cup this year! In collaboration with the University Social Clubs, the English Language Department organized a competition for students on their sports knowledge. The competents were enthused with energy, each one trying to be advantageous over the other. The winners were rewarded with gifts.

Considering the International Day for Cultural Diversity, on Thursday, May 31, 2018, the Department of Translation and Languages at Al Maaref University organized a one-day exhibition to celebrate the special occasion, in cooperation with the Lebanese Professional Craftsmen's Union and the Palestinian National Heritage Society. The event represented an exuberant and well-timed opportunity for dialogue, development and exchange of ideas among different people, students and parents, from different walks of life. It was an indispensable gathering that allows students to be in contact with innovative and creative industries and business ventures.

Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at Al Maaref University (MU) hosted on May 29, 2018 Banque du Liban’s First Vice-Governor Raed H. Charafeddine for a seminar talk under the title: "The Role of the Knowledge Economy in the Development of Human Capital in Lebanon". The seminar was attended by the Fiscal Attorney Judge Ali Ibrahim, the Economic Advisor at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Lebanon Mr. Hussein Yadikari, the President of the Lebanese Association for the Advancement of Science (LAAS), Professor Naeim Al Owaini, besides a big crowd of representative of several union, syndicates, civil society, municipalities, academics and FBA students.

In the context of enhancing students' opportunity after graduation, the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at Al Maaref University organized, in collaboration with Mira.Cle sarl Consulting training centre, a workshop, led by Coach Naeem Al-Zein on "Designing a CV and Preparing for Job Interviews" on Saturday, 12 May 2018. Students were trained on how to design CVs, taking notice of their main successful constituents with particular emphasis on the Personal Message, typically included in the job application, and where the majority of the employers consider it a key significant indicator about the job candidates in the process of job short-listing. Students were also trained in the day-long workshop on the successful and effective preparation of any job interview, how to answer the various expected questions, in addition to identifying the uniforms to be observed on the day of the interview and how to follow up and ask for an evaluation. In conclusion, the Faculty Dean, Prof. Hussein Hejase, presented Certificates of Participation to students and took memorable photos with the keynote trainer.

Khodr Qubaisi, a student from Al Maaref University, won the competition tournament among the Lebanese Universities in Martial Art- Kyokushinkai on Wednesday, 25 April 2018, at the Lebanese University campus. The competition is part of the activities celebrating the Health Day for the Year 2018. The Champion Qubaisi had competent wins over his contestants and led him to obtain the first place skillfully in the Kyokushinkai Tournament. In turn, Al Maaref University congratulates the talented student Khodr Qubaisi for this outstanding win and wishes for him and his colleagues every success and development.

As part of a series of specialized training workshops conducted by the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at Al-Maaref University, in collaboration with the Scientific Association of Accounting and Business Administration (SAABA), The Accounting department at the faculty organized a special training workshop on Friday, June 29, 2018.

The Faculty of Mass Communication and Fine Arts at Al-Maaref University organised on Thursday, April 19, a session with the actor Mr. George Khabaz titled, “The Theatre and the Problems of the Country”. The session was attended not only by the students from Al-Maaref University, but it was also attended by a number of students from other Lebanese universities and people interested in culture and arts.

As part of the activities of the National Reading Week, the Faculty of Mass Communication and Fine Arts at Al-Maaref University hosted the well-known journalist Dr. Sami Kolaib to shed the focus light on the significance of reading in ameliorating the educational processes and enhancing the cultural awareness. The session had the title of “Reading in the Media Dictionary: Challenges and Aspirations”. Dr. Kolaib received a warm welcome from the Faculty’s Dean Dr. Ali Takach, as well as from the Instructors of Seminar in Journalism and Digital Media Dr. Samar Kalakesh and Dr Ali Kassir, the students and a number of journalists and cultural figures. During the one-and-a-half-hour dialogue conducted with the guest and moderated by the students Sara Mortada and Ali Sabra, Dr Kolaib recommended to have diversified reading that enhances the critical thinking, pointing to the importance of maintaining a close relationship between the student and the book, which ultimately contributes to the student’s faster understanding, and to enhance his/her ability to debate and discuss any topic on media.

As part of its efforts to achieve excellence and uniqueness, and in preparation for the graduation of its first batch of certificate holders in the field of Human Resources Management, the Faculty of Business Administration at Al Maaref University, in cooperation with Global Technology & Management Consultancy (GTMC), organized a training workshop for the students under the title "Strategic Job Analysis " (DBA, PHR, GPHR) on 26 and 28 March 2018. At the end of the workshop, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration Dr. Ali Al-Dirani offered certificates of participation to the students.

In light of a series of awareness and cultural seminars organized by Al Maaref University throughout the year, the Directorate of Student Affairs organized, in cooperation with the Information Division of the Lebanese Internal Security Forces, an awareness seminar on cybercrime under the title "Safe Use of the Internet" on Thursday, 26 April 2018. The seminar was led and presented by the First Lieutenant Mahmoud Ali, in the presence of educational figures, specialists in informatics and IT technicians, and diversified students from different faculties.

Al-Maaref University signed a protocol of cooperation with the Islamic Center for Guidance and Higher Education (ICGHE) on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at the University campus in Beirut. The Center was represented by the Head Manager, Ali Zalzale and a group of the administrative members representing different organizational functions. From the University, the President Prof. Ali Aladdin, the University President, the members of the University Council, and a group of academics and administration representation were present.

On Saturday, April 14, 2018, the students of the "History of Translation" course at the University of Al Maaref University visited the National Museum in Beirut, with the Head of Department, Ms. Zeinab Anis Jaber, in light of the event of "La Nuit des Musées" , organized by the Ministry of Culture annually. The students toured the museum and observed its valuable artifacts from the Stone Age to the Ottoman Empire. They listened attentively to the significant historical information that the tour guide provided to visitors in three languages: Arabic, English, and French. The aim of the visit was to consolidate the concepts discussed in the classroom at Al Maaref University, as well as to highlight the importance of looking at history as means of understanding the present and looking forward to the future, as the famous adage says: "Who has no history, has no Present to look for".

The student clubs at Al Maaref University launched a charity initiative entitled "Behold, the love of Prophet Mohamad- A’ala Hobbi Prophet Mohamad” in collaboration with the Directorate of Student Affairs. In the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad, students from different faculties prepared home-made dishes, brought their own cultural, literary, and scientific books to be sold as well as winter cloth for different age groups to be collected. All returns of the sales and cloth collection are granted to charitable activities. Among these activities was a modest contribution to the renovation of the home of a family and the donation of clothing to the Charitable Supply Association. In light of its Mission and Vission, the University encourages its students to voluntary work, which has become a cornerstone for the advancement of society. Such activity is one of the crucial factors to improve their personality, strengthen their sense of volunteerism and develop their abilities.

Al Maaref University hosted an "Open Day" on its premises for a large group of secondary school students on Friday, April 13, 2018. The day consisted of a set of engaging activities that were initiated by student clubs and run by five faculties. The faculties were Engineering, Science, Business Administration, Mass Communication and Arts, Religions and Humanities, including the Department of Translation and Languages. The Open Day was an indispensable opportunity for school students to know closely and have a first-time contact with the academic programs and the available choices of study pathways and majors as well as have a feel of the campus life at Al Maaref University.

Professor Hussin J. Hejase, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration at Al Maaref University was awarded the prestigious International Publons Review Award for the year 2017 in the category of reviewing refereed multidisciplinary pre-publication research papers.

The Faculty of Business Administration at Al Maaref University had a special interactive presentation under the tile, “The Accounting Profession: A Cross-sectional Analysis, Challenges and Future Outlook” by hosting the previous president of the Lebanese Association of Certified Public Accountants, Mr. Hikamt Sleem. The activity took place at 2 pm on Thursday November 23, 2017 at the University campus. Present were the Vice President Prof. Jalal Jomaah, the Vice President for Development and Quality Assurance as well as Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Hussin J. Hejase, the Assistant Dean Dr. Ali El Dirani and Head of the Accounting Department Dr. Hassan Rkein in addition to a large group of instructors, students and representatives of many professional institutions, academics, accountants and auditors.
