Arabic Communication Skills I
ARB201 is the first three-credit course of the RAP sequence. Course work focuses on advanced reading and writing skills. The goal for students completing this level of the RAP is to refine their written skills in preparation for any/all core and major courses taught in Arabic.
The aptitude level for the courses is upper-intermediate to advanced. The method of delivery involves daily language courses directed in communicative approach through language games, role-play, authentic materials, and also task-oriented practices.
The RAP courses are assessed and graded according to regular assignments, quizzes, partial exams, project and the final exam (as required by the University Academic Policy).
Classes meet 45 hours per session (15 weeks; 2 days per week; 1 hr and 15 min per day).
During the Fall and Spring Academic Semesters, classes meet Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday.
Students must be open to accepting a morning or evening schedule depending on availability.
