Arabic Communication Skills II
On completing successfully the ARB 201, you are allowed to move on to study the second Arabic course, ARB 202. This course counts towards satisfying the requirements for completing the University General Requirements - GER courses of your Major.
The course focuses on advanced listening and speaking skills. Its goal is to refine your oral skills in preparation for those subsequent core and major courses that are specified by you in the Contract Sheet of your Major.
The aptitude level for the course is upper-intermediate to advanced. Similar to ARB 201, the teaching method used in the course induces proactive engagement with the teacher, classmates and provided material.
The daily language is shaped by a communicative approach through language games, role play, authentic materials, and also task-oriented practices.
There will be lots of evaluation instances including assignments, quizzes, partial exams, project and final exam (Required by the University Academic Policy).
The classes meet 45 hours per semester that consists of 15 weeks; 2 days per week; and each day meets for 1 hr and 15 min.
During the Fall and Spring Academic Semesters, classes meet Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday.
Students must be open to accepting a morning or evening schedule depending on availability.
