MU Participates in the Final Tournament for Robotics ARC4
Under the patronage of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Lebanese University, the organizing committee of the Fourth Annual ARC4 Robotics Competition concluded its largest Lebanese robotics event on the campus of the Faculty of Science at the Lebanese University on Saturday 21 April 2018.
The unique Robotics event was attended by a number of universities, schools, and associations, in addition to, representatives of the Security Services and diplomatic representatives in Lebanon as well as a group of educational, scientific and social institutions and community-related organizations.
The event witnessed enthusiastic competitions that involved skillful young people under the supervision of competent coaches. Following the announcement of the results and the names of the winning teams, the supporting bodies, referees and professors were honored.
Al Maaref University represented by Mr. Hussein Nasser, the Director of Student Affairs, stressed that "Al Maaref University encourages such types of competition to stimulate creativity, science, and production. He also pointed out that "the competition carries many meanings and concepts that we support fully to develop intelligence and innovation for students of all ages."
On March 3, 2018, Al Maaref University hosted the "Follow Up Day" of the participating teams, which was organized this year under the title "Robot in the Service of Municipal Work" with the participation of more than one hundred students from different educational levels in 124 teams from Lebanon, Syria and Ghana - Africa. The hosted event was meant to be a follow up of the teams that designed, programmed, synchronized and helped robots to solve technical obstacles in preparation for the tournament that was expected to take place in April 2018. The competitors were divided into seven categories, covering the various academic levels, from primary to middle schools, as well as to high schools.
The tournament was launched 6 months ago in partnership and cooperation between Kalimat Association for Robot Education, Haret Hreik Municipality and the Teachers' Association in Lebanon - Beirut Branch.
