Qabalan Invited for MU International Conference

Sheikh Qabalan, the President of the Lebanese Shiite Council, met on Thursday 20^th July 2017 at the Council’s premises the representatives of a committee of an international conference “Towards a Culture of Interfaith Dialogue”. The representatives were the President of the Lebanese Society for the Advancement of Science, Dr Naim Awaini, and the Scientific and Academic Adviser at Al Maaref University, Dr Talal Atrissi, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Religions and Humanities, Dr Kamal Lzeik, Director of Public Relations and Media. The aim of the meeting was to invite Sheikh Qabalan to participate as a keynote speaker at the opening of the international conference on the culture of interfaith dialogue organized by Al Maaref University and the Lebanese Society for the Advancement of Science on 12 and 13 September 2017.

Dr Awaini explained the activities, projects, and conferences that committee of interfaith dialogues intends to undertake shortly. He also briefed Sheikh Qabalan about the conference’s program and its thematic focus.

His Eminence, Sheikh Qabalan, blessed every effort that contributes in enriching the scientific and research process and is of benefit to human beings, especially that through science and knowledge they transcend. By this, humans can establish the good nucleus for a virtuous and healthy society. He also emphasized that Lebanon also needs to hold more scientific and research conferences that keep pace with science and knowledge, restore Lebanon's high standing in the world and become a scientific beacon that provides communities with elites and scientific resources.
