Jomaa Honored for Receiving Scientific Excellence Award
Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Industry Dr Hussein Haj Hassan, Al Maaref University honored the Vice President and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Jalal Jomaa on Friday 28/7/2017 for receiving the Scientific Excellence Award for the year 2017 by the National Council for Scientific Research on Basic and Engineering Sciences.
Prof. Ali Alaeddine congratulated Professor Jalal Jomaa for his "generous tender, and unswerving endeavour" and wished him "steady progress, success and excellence”, “hoping he continues in putting all the experiences and achievements obtained in establishing and developing the Faculty of Engineering and Science at the University of Al Maaref."
Prof. Jalal Jomaa, in turn, thanked the Lebanese University and the National Center for Scientific Research for all their dedicated support for undertaking and developing scientific research. Such a support culminated in having the honor to receiving the Scientific Excellence Award of the year 2017 granted by the National Center for Scientific Research.
Dr Jomaa, on the platform of Al Maaref University, granted the award to the protectors of the Homeland, saying that "all prizes are thin and useless when looked at from the perspective of those men protecting the nation; all our appreciation are awarded to them alone." Dr Jomaa promised that "the Faculty of Engineering at Al Maaref University will be the faculty of excellence, achievement and pioneering institution in scientific innovation that restores ethics and humility. With such attitude, the University will be an exemplar of the motto “ Mastering Life with Wisdom and Knowledge”.
For his part, HE the Minister of Industry, Dr Hussein Haj Hassan, congratulated the Vice President, his family and Al Maaref University for this outstanding achievement. As well, he congratulated once again Al Maaref University for managing to obtain the official ministerial licensing of the faculties of Engineering and Science. He hoped that the University would not only be an added value to higher education but would be distinguished in innovation, in the revolution of science, in modernity and in originality.
In conclusion, the University President and the Minister presented a trophy to the honored, and then received a bouquet of roses in the name of the administrative body and the Secretary General of the University. The ceremony was followed by a buffet party at the university cafeteria.
