Patriarch Al-Ra'i invited to MU's International Conference

As part of the arrangements for the international conference, "Towards a Culture of Interfaith Dialogue", to be held jointly by Al Maaref University and the Lebanese Society for the Advancement of Science (LAAS) on 12 and 13 September 2017, a delegation consisting of the President of Al Maaref University, Professor Ali Alaeddine, Dean of the Faculty of Religion and Human Sciences, Professor Hadi Fadlallah, and the Assistant Dean, Dr. Kamal Lizeik, President of the Lebanese Association for the Advancement of Science, Professor Naim Awaini and his deputy Professor Abdo Georgis visited His Excellency Mar Bishara Boutros Al-Ra'i in the presence of Pastor of the Diocese of Batroun Bishop Mounir Khairallah on Wednesday 26 July 2017 in the Patriarchy in Diman.

Following the welcome of His Excellency, Professor Alaeddine explained the rationale of the conference, emphasizing its role in consolidating the culture of dialogue among religions and activating its importance especially in light of the latest events that are taking place in the region. He invited His Excellency to participate in the work of this conference and deliver a speech at the opening ceremony.

Prof. Awaini then put his Excellency into the picture about the preparations made by the Association for the establishment of several conferences during the current year, including the joint conference with Al Maaref University.

In conclusion, the Patriarch thanked the delegation for the invitation and wished them all the success in preparing for this conference and achieving its desired goals.
