Seminar on Human Will and Social Change
In commemoration of birth of Iman Mahdi, the Faculty of Religions and Humanities organized a seminar under the title of “Human Will and Social Change” in the University auditorium on Thursday 11 May 2017. The Director of the Higher Education Institute for Religious Studies at the University of Saint Joseph, Professor Edgar Al Heebi , and the ‘Hawzah’ Lecturer at the University of the International Al Mustapha University , Sheikh Mohamad Zarakit gave a talk about the subject of the seminar that was precluded by an introductory preview given by the Dean of the Faculty of Religions and Humanities at Al Maaref University, Dr. Hadi Fadlullah.
Professor Heebi explained methodically about relationship between human will and destiny, as well, he emphasized the reciprocity of social and private interest. In this regard, Sheikh Zarakit commented on the importance of leadership and provided a number of models from the Islamic world on their influence in making social changes. The seminar ended up in a range of audience interventions about the range of issues addressed in it.
