The President of the World Union of Resistance Scholars, Sheikh Maher Hammoud, received at his office on Monday July 24, 2017, a delegation from Al Maaref University headed by Dr. Talal Atrissi, Scientific and Academic Advisor of the University, Dean of the Faculty of Religions and Humanities at the University Dr. Hadi Fadlallah, and Dr. Wissam Yassin, Director of Media and Public Relations. Sheikh Hammoud received an invitation to participate in the opening of the conference "Towards a Culture of Interfaith Dialogue" organized by the University and the Lebanese Society for the Advancement of Science on September 12 and 13.

 Dr Atrissi explained the objectives of the conference, pointing out that all together they seek to consolidate the culture of dialogue between religions, and calling for the need to pay attention to their outcomes and activate them, especially in light of the events that the region is going through.

 His Eminence Sheikh Hamoud thanked the efforts exerted by the Al Maaref University and LAAS Society and wished them all success in the forthcoming conference. The meeting was an occasion to talk about the general situation and the necessity of dialogue between different religions to mitigate the effects of extremism.
