University President Welcomes Registered Students
The Directorate of Student Affairs at Al Maaref University organized a dialogue meeting between the University's President and the existing registered students on Tuesday 17/10/2017 in the main hall of the university.
The Director of Student Affairs Directorate, Mr Hussein Nasser, said that the Directorate will organize this dialogue meeting with the beginning of each semester. "This period is important in motivating students to start a new academic year proactively. The meeting will help prepare students for the new academic year as well and provide them with the opportunity to communicate directly with their University President. "
Mr Nasser stressed the idea that "educational institutions are responsible for the upbringing and development of the human being." He added that "we hold such duty sincerely at the University, believing that the real investment is in human capital and that education has dimensions beyond the limits of teaching in its narrow sense”.
In turn, Professor Ali Alaeddine, the University President welcomed the existing students, hoping that the new beginning of the new academic year 2017-2018 will of the great value of progress and development and stressing "the need to work with complete dedication that allows each student to excel in the subjects of specialization."
Professor Alaeddine pointed out that "the university is working constantly to follow up students’ academic needs and develop them." He also drew the attention to the latest success of the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Sciences in equipping all its laboratories with the best cutting-edge equipment and laboratories, and in hiring the best course instructors in the fields of study”.
The University President reassured the students that the support and care for their academic progress are continuous. He also informed the students about the current plans for university expansion at more than one level. He said that “"We are continuing all the arrangements needed to obtain licenses for the Master's degrees, new branches in the Southern and Eastern sides of Lebanon, the establishment of a new faculty, Faculty of Education”.
Professor Alaeddin stressed that "science is mixed with ethics, and should be considered the spearheaded means of building a good and successful society, and ingraining the concepts of honesty, sincerity, sacrifice, love of people, patriotism, respect for parents, justice, dignity, and love of God”
Finally, the University President was keen to address the important role that Al Maaref University has towards educating its students about their affiliation with a distinguished culture. In light of this role, the University President informed the students about launching the new Liberal Arts course, “Contemporary Issues that will be delivered a group of specialized experts in the field of study.
The Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Religions and Humanities, Dr Kamal Lezzaik., gave a brief explanation to the students about the lecture series related to the newly launched course “Contemporary Issues”. He emphasized the idea that the course lectures will involve experts in the field of study and is dedicated to engaging students in dialogue about the addressed themes. The course will be spaced out across several semesters and will receive three credits on completion of a short research supervised by a specialist.
