On Tuesday, October the 8^th of 2019, the President, Board members and Directorates of AlMaaref University received a delegation from AlGhobeiry Municipality headed by the Mayor Mr. Maan Al Khalil accompanied by his Deputy Mayor and some council members in addition to few High schools’ principals within AlGhobeiry district.

Mr. Maan started the meeting by commending the noteworthy achievements by the University on the scientific and social levels. Also, he thanked the President and the Board for the continuous and effective support and cooperation with the municipality, especially the scholarships provided to a big number of students from and residing within the AlGhobeiry region. He added that the majority of the high school graduates are distinguished students, so he praised the principals for the significant role in that regard. In addition to that, he said that there is a strong bond between the name of the university and the municipality.

The mayor stressed the importance of establishing a university like AlMaaref University among the educational institutions for its crucial role not only on the academic level and educational services provided to the students but for all the language and administrative courses offered to the high schools; pointing out at the continuous endeavor to strengthen the partnership between the two and the possibility of allocating some graduation projects to the municipality to enrich the community with distinguished capabilities.

In return, the President of AlMaaref University welcomed the Mayor and the accompanying delegation and indicated that AlMaaref University is not a business project but a foundation that masters life with wisdom and knowledge.

Further, he presented a set of titles that form the objective framework of the university’s movement and constant efforts to promote a higher and better educational level of the students and the university. The main points were as follows:

1. The educational level offered by the university to all students, after providing them with all the educational learning process requirements, especially with the competent academic staff, laboratories, and the necessary equipment.
2. The safe learning environment that integrates between science and ethics.
3. Offering a distinguished academic model by producing science and not only teach it.
4. Strengthen the bonds between the different academic, cultural and social institutions, especially those that we have shared goals and concerns with and the ones that we share a cultural heritage and working on maintaining its authenticity but at the same time determined to be up to the modernization vision and mission.

Moreover, Dr. Alaeddine assured that in addition to providing the students with a stimulating educational environment, the university provides a sublime educational environment that adheres to the ethical values, and works on building an educated, creative, and affable person. Additionally, he addressed the most prominent future projects at the university that are achieved by teamwork and sincere cooperation between all.

During the meeting, many attendees praised the academic, ethical and guidance role of the university and the accomplished activities during the preceding academic year, and they asserted the importance and real advantage of employing the graduates in specialized institutions and corporations besides working on strengthening the joint cooperation between the different parties.

Both gathered parties expressed a common interest in consolidating collaboration between them in order to improve the community's environment on different levels scientifically, culturally and socially.
