Al Gobeiry Delegation’s Visit to the Engineering Faculty

A delegation from the Ghobeiri Municipality visited the Faculty of Engineering at Al Maaref University on Thursday the 5th of December 2019.

The delegation was headed by the Mayor, Mr. Maan Al-Khalil, accompanied by members of the Municipality Council, engineering office, and project managers of the municipality. The delegation was received by the VP & dean of the faculty of Engineering, Prof. Jalal Jomaa, heads of departments and laboratory Engineers.

Dr. Hussein Muzannar, Chairman of the civil engineering department presented the civil engineering laboratory state of the art equipment. In addition Dr. Muzannar exhibited the results and analysis of several tests carried out by the faculty that might be of interest of the municipality.

The Mayor, Mr. Al-Khalil, spoke about the importance of the cooperation between the municipality and the university. He also expressed the municipality interest to further develop the existing cooperation for the benefit of both, Ghobeiri municipality and Al Maaref university.

For his part, Prof. Jomaa stressed on the importance of the cooperation between the public and academic sectors. Prof. Jomaa also said that community service in general and especially with municipalities is a strategic goal at Al Maaref University.

At the end of the meeting, the delegation toured the laboratories of the faculty of Engineering at Al Maaref university.
