On October 3, 2018, an exceptional meeting was held on the premises of the Lebanese Association of Certified Public Accountants (LACPA), between the Association and representatives of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) of Al Maaref University (MU). 

Both the president of LACPA Mr. Sarkis Sakr and LACPA’s secretary Mr. Hassan Ftouni attended the meeting with FBA representatives included the FBA Dean Prof. Hussein Hejase, his assistant Dr. Ali Al-Dirani and the Head of the Accounting Department Dr. Hassan Rkein. 

The meeting was an opportunity to congratulate the president on his recent appointment as a President and to discuss possible ways of collaboration to enhance the accounting profession in Lebanon. 

The two sides of the meeting also asserted the importance of matching the university accounting program with that of the Association to pave the way for graduates to join the Association upon completing their university degrees. The two sides also discussed the importance of strengthening the relationship between the academic accounting research and professional practice.

In conclusion, the FBA Dean Prof. Hussin Hejase presented an honorary medal to the President Mr. Sarkis Sakr and wished him every success in his new role.
