As part of enhancing the scientific and academic collaboration with local and international universities, Al Maaref University held a ceremony for signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Italian Sapienza University in Rome on Friday, November 2, 2018.

On behalf of both University Presidents, the Vice President of Al Maaref University, Professor Jalal Jomaa, and the Dean of the Faculty of Business of Sapienza University, Professor Rosella Castellano signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of the Faculty Deans, the University Secretary-General and the Public Relations and Media Director from Al Maaref University and a bespoken Italian delegation that included academics from Sapienza University, a Parliamentary Deputy, heads of municipalities and cultural representatives. 

The signing ceremony started with a welcoming speech by Professor Jomaa, in which he much valued the importance of such an event for initiating academic cooperation with one of the major European universities.

In her turn, Professor Castellano appreciated the efforts made by the Al Maaref University to establish advanced academic programs and take on agreements with well-established and developed universities.

After having the Italian Deputy and representatives of Italian municipalities airing their views about the mutual benefits that this agreement will have for Lebanon and Italy, the memorandum of understanding between Al Maaref University and Sapienza University was signed.
